Born from a love of gathering.

It all started when…

Colleen Mahoney wondered why silicon valley didn’t have a cooking focused, team building venue where she could bring clients, or friends or co-workers. A place where you could have the entire space for your group, with no concern about what you discussed or who overheard what. A place where amazing food was paired with local wines and all wrapped up in a seasonal package. So she created it.

Melding her cooking background with her sommelier super powers (yes, she was in the wine industry and is a Sommelier). Savory Kitchen (now Cultivate Kitchen) was born in early 2012. She has since opened another business Whirlygig, also on The Alameda in San Jose that caters to a younger crowd with everything from Birthday Parties to open play sessions, camps and classes. Check out Whirlygig here.

Now Cultivate hosts hands on classes and private events to celebrate everything from birthdays to client events to even a few weddings.

We have classes focusing on challenges (molten lava cake challenges are a crowd favorite!) to deep dive classes on everything from Japanese to Mexican, Vegan to Gluten Free…and everything in between. Date night or kids classes and camps.
